HARRINGTON, THE BUTTER-BOY
2/2003 - 3/2007
This is our Butter-Boy, Harrington peeking out from behind the pillows he loved to chew up. He was a very gentle and mellow rattie. He not only loved butter, but weighed as much as a pound of it! His favorite thing to do was to sleep next to his mommy (my daughter, Rachael), and give cuddles and kisses. The last 5 months of his life were rough. Since he was four years old, he had lost the ability to grind down his teeth so he needed them to be clipped every few days. He couldn't eat regular food, so we spoon-fed him baby food (which he loved). He held on, though. He loved us and we loved him so much. I know he is on the Rainbow Bridge with our other sweeties, playing, running in the sun and the fields. We miss you, Harrington.
FERDINAND THE WICKED
Meet Ferdinand, our newest little boy. He is 7 months old, and full of evil attitude. After we lost Harrington, Ferdinand was the perfect balm for our sad hearts and spirits. (He's such a good boy and a sweetie pie!) He lives to ride around on my shoulder or in my shirt all day long if he could. We have races all over the bed, playing chase and "tag". He loves to find little treasures (whatever he can quickly grab) to hide behind pillows and under blankies. He is on the small size, about 600 grams, no matter how much we try and feed him. His favorite foods: Turnips, lettuce, peanut butter (no allergy) with banana, apples, celery, raisins with granola and mashed potatoes. Oh, and let's not forget the Cherry Garcia ice cream. As you can see in this picture, he has taken to hiding on my shoulder where he thinks I can't see him while he chews on a paper/cotton Q-tip...(unused, of course).
He loves to play inside purses
He is just getting over a respiratory infection (myco), and also is being treated for lice with ivermectin. It really works! (poor widdle wiggles!) While he is being treated, we have increased his vitamin intake by mixing in Hi-Vit drops (liver flavor) into abanana/peanut butter/oatmeal mash. I also add olive oil to it since his skin is so itchy right now and healing from all his scratching.
